Amazon charging taxes on purchases in Florida starting this Thursday.
“Amazon.com will start charging sales taxes on purchases in Florida from this Thursday.
The tax has to do with the opening of two Amazon distribution centers that will be built in Hillborough and Polk countries later this year.
The Florida Department of Revenue requires online companies to begin collecting sales taxes once a company has a physical presence in the state. That has allowed many online retailers that is not in the stat of Florida, including Amazon, to avoid adding the taxes to online purchases.”
